SION ASTAL.

A bastard prince turned darling 'Hero King' of his country, Sion spearheaded a revolution to usurp his tyrant of a Lord Father and seize the throne, ultimately rebuilding Roland as a nation free of corruption and his late father's institution of dated, draconian laws. Beloved by millions, Sion is renown as the hope and guiding light of his country, but what his people remain unaware of is the price he paid to become their savior: condemning himself to an immortal life of unremitting physical agony, the erosion of his sense of self resulting in the slow encroachment of madness, and becoming a vessel for a God of Destruction. Yiiiiikes.

Beyond that, though, Sion is a compassionate fool of a man who is prone to seeing the beauty in all things (and in everyone). Additionally, he's given to ~~trolling~~ teasing and light banter, and is known to actively seek out ways to make his companions smile...! Day to day, Sion's friends are his grounding force in life, and he will reach out to anyone in need of a laugh, a listening ear, or simply someone to talk to. TL;DR let Sion be your mom friend, he's good at it.

SKILLS.

☆ MEDICAL: Having experience as both a field medic and in the professional practice of medicine (CRAU), Sion is your go-to guy whether you've broken an arm, received a nasty combat laceration, or feel yourself coming down with the flu. Areas of intrigue also include: biomedical research ~~the creation of super soldiers~~, working with programmable matter to replicate organs, and human engineering for exploration space technology.

☆ LEADERSHIP: When Sion speaks, he speaks to everyone; he is a King known for appealing to the needs of the collective whole, inspiring the loyalty of many, and moving not only the masses, but the world beneath his feet. One might say that his good looks and A-rank charisma are a one-two punch, especially when he has ~~cute grannies~~ ladies of all ages vying for prints of his portrait around the continent (and even in enemy territory !!).

☆ STRATEGY: Since childhood, Sion has fended off assassins not through strength, but with a tactician's wit, and canonically Sion has time and time again brought the Kings of enemy countries to their knees in his campaign to conquer the continent of Menoris with the flawless execution of his, at times, ruthless designs.

☆ SWORDSMANSHIP: Sion is an expert with a broadsword, and can function as a tank in a pinch, even if he'd much prefer to dual-wield DPS

☆ MAGIC: Sion casts spells by manipulating energy into magic arrays, or more specifically, magic arrays which are comprised of equations. How the equations are arranged directly influences the effects of the spell, enabling skilled and seasoned users to create their own spells from scratch. What's more, each country on the continent of Menoris structures their spells differently, causing for unique and varied magic heralding from each corner of the globe. Sion, quite naturally, uses Roland's magic, all of which is nature based. Spells include: light, lightning, water, earth, and fire in various applications, both offensive and defensive.

⤷ Also is able to create, shape, and manipulate swords. Described as "blacker, darker than night", and as blades which reek of "smoke the color of black blood", the swords are summoned with a simple command and function as projectiles which respond to Sion's will, cutting that which he wishes to cut, and merely immobilizing that which he does not. The blades may also be traditionally wielded.

☆ POWER DETECTION/ABSORPTION: Canonically, all mages are attuned to the energy flow of the world, allowing for heightened perception and enhanced spiritual awareness. For example, Sion is able to sense the "killing intent", enmity, and evil of all beings. This not only helps him to discern the true nature of those who surround him, but also stay any would-be threats, preventing calamities from happening. Notably, Sion is also able to sense the presence of supernatural powers in other living beings and gain detailed understanding of them, including their nature and intensity.

Additionally, by "consuming" an individual on a spiritual level, Sion is able to take their abilities unto himself, gaining strength and power.

☆ ʜᴜᴍᴀɴ α: No longer human himself, Sion is a Human α, otherwise known as a Human Alpha. As a Human Alpha, the more people who love Sion (whether or not it is genuine adoration, being subject to his rule as King, or simply influenced by him in some way), the more powerful Sion will become. Eventually, he will amass strength enough to either destroy the world or to rewrite it completely.

☆ TELEPORTATION: By diffusing into light, Sion is able to move at light-speed across short distances.

☆ GLOW IN THE DARK: Sion's blood is sparkly, gold, and incandescent. Light from it limns through his skin, so to most, it will appear as though he's softly glowing ~~like a nightlight~~. Some also recognize this as a 'divine aura'!

☆ PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Can and will toss bros twice his size around like ragdolls. Sion's strength is roughly thrice that of a normal human's.

☆ IMMORTALITY/INVULERNABILITY: In canon, Sion's life is tied to the fate of his world—he cannot die until it meets with its doomed. With this manner of "immortality", Sion ceased to age after the God better known as the "Fallen Dark Hero" awoke inside him, leaving his physical appearance frozen at age 18.

[ He flies on high, La Vista's wings of light ablaze at his back, a camera in his hands as he photographs Gammon's natural treasures with a bird's-eye view, sailing effortlessly over the Emerald Lakes until....! There is murmurous protest from La Vista itself, and though it is far from the first time he's received complaint from his Hero's weaponry (it seems the curse of Kings, to be subject to tantrums of the weapons which they wield), this marks the very first time when he hasn't been able to tame them...!

And so: he plummets, wings of light dispersing into a thousand filament-fine strands of aetherous nothing as he falls, silvered hair streaking behind him.

Apologies, Hero, if you were enjoying a lake-side picnic directly below, this scenario may end in one of three ways: broken bones (yours, if Sion should land atop you—thank goodness he can heal), an expert catch, or the King's own show of grace (a wind spell, with which to break his fall, and accidentally blow your picnic away?!). ]

October 5th - 8th ⇰ Coastal District, Caissa | M-m-manaplay?! (Open!)

[ Mana streams may catch the errant Hero's eye, should they find themselves wandering Caissa's coastal district in survey of the autumnal flush of color. The farmland nearest the coast is a patchwork of deep golds (barley, bending in the wind), brighter yellows (sunflowers, resilient of seasonal cold), and orange (marigold and an array of harvest gourds), all hues encompassed by mana-threads gathered not by the windmills, their sails catching mana from the ocean breeze, but by a King's song—an incantation which holds him still, amid the flowing, perpetual motion of farmland and field. Above the sussurating wind and distant sound of sea, his voice rises, and the world resonates with his melody—

(I see a spark of life shining; I hear a young minstrel sing. A beautiful roaring scream of joy and sorrow, so extreme. There is a love in me raging, a joyous magical feeling!)

—and the mana streams dance, coalescing into a magic which gathers the zest of fallen, dead vegetation and sees it flourishing within the bounds of the spell, and all those Heroes within its healing circle rejuvenated. For this is the power of King's rank magic: drawing upon mana from nature to revitalize allies...!

...even if acting as a channel, a living, breathing, conduit, should be more taxing than Sion had initially realized. His song cutting short, he falters—swaying—but catches himself (with grace), turning the motion instead into a pivot with which to face present company!

Inked quill taken to parchment, the Hero King's thoughts are elsewhere, far from the seaside cottage he shares with his Lady (his Lady who has been curiously absent for the vast majority of the day; wherever it is that her adventures have carried her, he knows that there will be a story to tell when she returns home, safe and sound!), adrift in a landscape which has come to life beneath his fingertips, illustrated with a cartographer's accuracy and an artist's flowing script.

He draws, and he thinks of how, nearly eight months ago to the date, he'd stood upon the edge of the Southern Country of Ali with all his Empire's might at his back, poised and at the ready to take the territories of the Republic of Belis. His campaign to see the world of Menoris united by love, all countries come together beneath a great flood of renewal, his kingdom's banner of white and blue...

Would he return to it? The vision which he'd glimpsed, burned into his mind's eye (as his own men had been, by his own hand; his own order), had it truly come to pass realms away from here?

Golden eyes narrowed, sharpened to gleaming knives in a fit of what could only be described as King's fit (of brooding), he does not sense his Lady's presence until Alice is close, beside him at the table, and there is the softest, sweetest sound--...

A kitten's mewl???

▶ VISUAL: ❝Golden eyes that were beautiful, made radiant with a strong sense of will. Silver hair, pleasing features.❞

As a gaggle of assassins once put in a dark alleyway: with your ability, this is too much, handsome boy!. And well, it was, but Sion was rescued and lived to dazzle another day. Ostensibly, he is nothing if not regal and glamorous, but a close inspection might reveal the dark circles beneath his eyes and a too-thin frame. Thankfully, he has all that hair to compensate for his shortcomings???
▶ AURAL: A true tenor with a resonant timbre, clear and bright. Oscillates between silvered and sing-song while teasing and in good company, gracious and mild-mannered when addressing most, and grandiloquent and compelling both when issuing King's decree. Imperious, at times, but rarely so.
▶ OLFACTORY: Fresh parchment and ink; rose oil.
▶ DEMEANOUR: ❝If there was ever a need to describe him, he was like a demon who'd turned his arrow upon God, or a God who purged all evil. This person, who was born with the nature of a Hero, would become King.❞

▶ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Certainly! Though at first blush, Sion's inclined to keep his distance from most. Still, if anyone should reach out to him, he'll warm to the touch.
▶ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Heck yes. Sion's largely accustomed to attempts on his life (such is the curse of the crown!), and will meet violence with violence...! He'll be punishing, where it's due, and forgiving where it's earned. More than that, though, Sion's always at the ready for combat.
▶ RELATIONSHIPS: What was that? You want to be friends? Sure, he'll be your friend.
▶ PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: Boasting 'indomitable mental fortitude', Sion's defenses against any and all things psychic are built like a brick wall. Good luck managing anything like telepathy, chances are Sion will force you out.
▶ MAGICAL INFORMATION: Sion's annoyingly not human! Merged with a Goddess/Divine Entity of Destruction/Mad Hero Monster, Sion's capacity for magic and amassing power is astounding. Sion's mana signature is overwhelmingly knock-your-socks-and-epaulettes-off breathtaking and bright, but so too tinged with an element of darkness. Light borne from the depth of shadow is always the most brilliant, after all.
▶ MEDICAL INFORMATION: Sion's blood is gold, sparkly, and incandescent...! It glows through the skin and manifests in what appears to be an ever-present aura or holy shroud.
